I’m running for St. Louis City Recorder of Deeds to modernize the office, protect property owners, and make public records more accessible. This means strengthening safeguards against deed fraud, improving digital access, and ensuring faster, more reliable service for residents, businesses, and families.
I’ve seen firsthand how delays, lack of transparency, and outdated systems can hurt people trying to protect what they’ve worked for. St. Louis deserves an office that works for everyone not just those who know how to navigate it. I’m running to bring accountability, efficiency, and real leadership to an office that impacts property ownership and generational wealth across our city.
Stronger Protection Against Property Fraud
I will implement stronger safeguards to prevent deed theft, including alerts for property owners and enhanced verification processes.
Modern, User-Friendly Records Access
I will push to fully modernize the Recorder’s Office with easy online access to records, faster processing times, and clear systems for residents.
Support for Homeowners & First-Time Buyers
I will advocate for reduced barriers by exploring fee relief options for first-time homebuyers, veterans, and families building generational wealth.
Transparency & Accountability
I will ensure the office operates with full transparency—clear processes, public reporting, and accountability to the people of St. Louis.
LGBTQIA RIGHTS
I will advocate for fair and accessible birth certificate updates so LGBTQIA+ individuals can have documents that reflect their identity because dignity and equality should be standard, not a fight.
Community Access & Outreach
I will bring the office into the community through education, outreach, and resources so residents understand how to protect their property.
Efficient, Customer-Focused Service
I will run the office like a business focused on service, efficiency, and delivering results for every resident.
Removing Biased & Discriminatory Language from Deeds
I will work with local and state leaders to identify and remove outdated, discriminatory language from property records. No document tied to someone’s home or future should contain language rooted in exclusion. I will push for clear, accessible processes that allow homeowners to update records and ensure our system reflects fairness, equity, and the values of St. Louis today.
